The California-based sports gadget manufacturer Coros Wearables Inc. officially introduced the new, fourth generation of the Pace sports watch line today. Following the more advanced Pace Pro model, the new Pace 4 received an AMOLED display. But that's not the only change.

What's Known

Coros Pace 4 is available with silicone and nylon straps. The thickness of the device is only 11.8 mm, and the weight with the nylon strap is 32 grams. The watch is equipped with a 1.2-inch touchscreen AMOLED display, one rotating button, and two regular ones. By the way, previous generations of Coros Pace had two buttons.

One of the features of Coros watches is battery life. With the Pace 4, the company surpassed itself — 41 hours of GPS mode or 19 days of everyday use. This is 16 hours more than the Pace 3. However, in maximum accuracy mode, using dual-band GPS (All-Satellite Dual-Frequency), the battery life is reduced to 12 hours. The full charging time is 2 hours.

The model also received a new optical heart rate sensor. The company claims it works more accurately and smoothly than before. The device has a built-in memory of 4 GB.

Pace 4 allows tracking activities such as running, cycling, swimming, strength training, hiking, and much more.

One of the highlights of the Pace 4 is the built-in microphone and new voice control features. After completing a workout, you can record short audio clips directly onto the watch, to later listen to the recording in the app. Coros claims it’s a simple way to make notes about nutrition, workout impressions, or terrain of a new route while the memories are fresh, without needing to take out your phone.

Prices and Competitors

The Coros Pace 4 watch is already available at a price of $249/£229 on the Coros website and at some retail stores worldwide. The previous model, Pace 3, is still also available on the manufacturer's website and costs $229.

The price of Pace 4 is lower than more premium Coros models: Apex 2 Pro ($449) and Vertix 2S ($699). They are also cheaper than competitors like Garmin Forerunner 255 ($349) and Polar Pacer Pro ($299). It is worth noting that all these models are heavier and, in most cases, have shorter battery life.
