You can never have too much Death Stranding: Kojima Productions announced an animated series
Hideo Kojima continues to actively develop the Death Stranding franchise. It's already known about the animated film tentatively titled Mosquito and the full-length Death Stranding adaptation by the A24 film studio. But during the Disney+ Originals presentation held at Hong Kong Disneyland, Kojima Productions announced another media project.
What Is Known
The Japanese developer announced that in collaboration with the EH studio, the production of the animated series Death Stranding Isolations is underway.
Its plot will unfold parallel to the first part of Death Stranding, with entirely new characters at the center. Kojima Productions provides the following description of the series:
One day, an explosion occurred...
Lonely souls of the dead manifest in the physical world in search of the living. However, the connection they create leads to a powerful explosion, destroying everything in this world. This phenomenon is called Death Stranding. As a result of these events, entire nations and civilization itself disappear. The remaining people are now isolated, closed off, and lack connections with the outside world. As humanity stands on the brink of extinction, a legendary courier embarks on a journey to deliver cargo and fulfill the senders' wishes, reconnecting people in the hope that they can still be saved...
Somewhere in North America, while Sam Bridges travels across the continent to save it, someone deals with their isolation in their own way. An old man attempting to save himself through means unrelated to what Bridges stands for. A warrior woman seeking to start a world of constant battles. A boy holding a grudge against Bridges. A girl who embraces solitude.
On the brink of humanity's and the world's demise, their fates and hopes intertwine, and a new Death Stranding story begins.
And then, another explosion...
Unfortunately, the public will have to wait for the first trailer of Death Stranding Isolations, but it is already known that the series will be released in 2027 on the Disney+ streaming service.
