The Chinese brand Thunderobot, known for its gaming laptops and accessories, has introduced a new line of mini-PCs called Mix NUC. The two announced devices combine compact size, high performance, and modern interfaces.

What's Known

The novelty is positioned as the ideal choice for AI model developers, users who need a powerful PC in limited space, and fans of minimalist workspaces.

The Mix NUC computers are housed in a metal case measuring only 128×128×42 mm, which amounts to a volume of less than 0.7 liters. Despite such modest dimensions, it has powerful components capable of handling resource-intensive tasks.

Thunderobot offers two versions of Mix NUC:

  • Basic model with an AMD Ryzen 7 H 255 processor (8 cores/16 threads), geared towards everyday work, office tasks, and multimedia;
  • Flagship version with Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 (12 cores/24 threads) — one of AMD's first chips with a dedicated NPU for AI tasks, including generative models and neural network acceleration.

Both models are equipped with:

  • 32 GB DDR5 RAM (in two SO-DIMM slots);
  • 1 TB SSD;
  • Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3;
  • Pre-installed Windows 11 OS.

Mix NUC received a large set of ports:

  • 1× USB-C (40 Gbps);
  • 2× USB 3.2 Gen 2;
  • 4× USB 3.2 Gen 1;
  • HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.4;
  • RJ-45 with 2.5G Ethernet support.

Both models are already available for order in China and will soon appear on the international market.

The cost of Mix NUC (converted from yuan):

  • Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 — about $980.
