DJI has released the Neo 2 — a new generation of miniature selfie drones designed for shooting on the go. The device is already available on the global market for €239, except for the USA, where sales are not planned.

What is known

Neo 2 is positioned as a "flying photographer" — thanks to the ActiveTrack and SelfieShot features, it can automatically keep the subject in frame and quickly switch angles — from mid-shot to wide-angle, follow the user, avoiding obstacles and choosing the best angles. This makes it an ideal solution for bloggers, travelers, and anyone who wants to shoot dynamic footage without an operator.

DJI Neo 2 weighs only 151 grams, making it one of the lightest drones in the brand's lineup. Despite its compactness, it has an impressive range of features:

  • shooting in 4K at 60 fps, as well as slow-motion shooting in 4K 100 fps;
  • vertical shooting supported with 2.7K resolution for social media;
  • omnidirectional obstacle detection — tracking in 8 directions;
  • obstacle avoidance system with LiDAR and infrared sensors;
  • gesture and voice control, take-off and landing from the palm;
  • intelligent shooting modes: Smart Selfie, Hitchcock Zoom, Glide Zoom;
  • stable flight in winds up to 10.7 m/s.

DJI Neo 2 received a 12 MP 1/2" CMOS sensor, an f/2.2 aperture, and a two-axis gimbal. When remotely controlled using the RC N3 remote, the signal transmission range reaches 10 km. Neo 2 is also compatible with the DJI controller and FPV goggles.
