It has been two days since the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, which means gamers had the opportunity to leave their ratings on Metacritic.

Even at launch, the shooter was heavily criticized and received "mixed" reviews on Steam, but on the most popular ratings aggregator, the new game set an anti-record for the series.

What is known

At the time of writing, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 has a score of 1.6, making it the lowest-rated part of the entire franchise. The previous "leader" of public discontent was the controversial Modern Warfare III (2023) with its 2.3 score.

An interesting nuance is that Critics are delighted — gamers are furious (again): Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 release divides community and the average score from their reviews is 84, which is quite good. However, they primarily evaluated the multiplayer and Zombie mode, whereas gamers focused their dissatisfaction on the failed storyline campaign, which not only lasts only four hours but is also oriented towards cooperative play and even does not allow pausing the game. Moreover, the AI-generated art found in the shooter ruined the reputation of Black Ops 7.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is available on PC, two generations of PlayStation and Xbox, including Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass.
