More information has emerged about the first foldable iPhone, the release of which is expected in fall 2026.

New information from Korean insider yeux1122 will delight those dissatisfied with the low battery capacity of Apple smartphones.

What is known

In his blog, yeux1122 reported that the iPhone Fold (a tentative name) will receive the most capacious battery in the brand's history. According to his data, the American company is testing batteries with a capacity of 5400-5800 mAh and will likely prefer the larger option.

Overall, this decision seems logical, as additional displays require an increased amount of energy, and without increasing the battery capacity, the autonomy of the iPhone Fold would be critically low.

For those not aware

Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman previously reported that "Like two iPhone Airs": Mark Gurman shared new information about Apple's first foldable smartphone and gave its estimated cost, with the device being quite thin, but in terms of compactness, it will fall behind devices from other manufacturers.

Titanium body, dual camera and no Face ID: an insider shared interesting information about the first foldable iPhone model, in the unfolded state, the thickness of the foldable iPhone will be 4.5 mm, and in the folded state, it will match the closest competitors.

Rumor has it that the diagonal of the internal screen of the foldable gadget will be 7.8" with no folds, and the external one - 5.5". In the folded state, the device's thickness will be from 9 to 9.5 mm, and in the unfolded state — from 4.5 to 4.8 mm.

The foldable ‌iPhone‌ will receive a titanium alloy body, dual rear camera, single front camera, and Touch ID instead of Face ID.

An important innovation will be the use of liquid metal for the hinge, which will increase the smartphone's durability and make the crease between the screens invisible.
