Samsung is preparing to release a new generation of wireless earbuds — Galaxy Buds 4 Pro, and thanks to a leak of animations from the One UI 8.5 firmware, key features and design changes have become known.

What is known

The first details of the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro were shared by Android Authority, which, after studying the discovered materials, reported that Samsung would abandon the triangular aesthetics of the Buds 3 Pro in favor of a flatter form and redesigned and improved ear tips. The earbuds now lay horizontally in the charging case, like other premium models.

However, the main new feature of the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro will be the Head Gestures function, which allows hands-free control of the earbuds, as implemented in AirPods Pro. Users of Samsung's new earbuds will be able to take or reject calls with a light head movement, listen to notifications, turn off alarms, timers, and reminders, respond 'yes' or 'no' to voice assistant queries, and control the device when it's impossible to speak or touch the screen.

Additionally, the unannounced One UI 8.5 firmware has revealed the following capabilities for the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro:

  • 360° sound recording;
  • adaptive noise cancellation;
  • phone search;
  • quick device pairing.
