Link, Princess Zelda, and the Beauty of New Zealand in the First Official Shots of The Legend of Zelda Adaptation
The process has started — Nintendo has published the first official photos from the filming site of the cinematic adaptation of the cult game franchise The Legend of Zelda.
What is known
In three picturesque shots, Princess Zelda and her faithful knight Link are shown. It is already known that their roles will be played by sixteen-year-old actress Bo Bragason, who starred in the series “The Astray Nell”, and young actor Benjamin Evan Ainsworth — he appeared in an episode of the series “The Sandman”.
Previously, on the website of the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers in the USA, it was mentioned that the filming would take place in New Zealand and the third photo showcases its picturesque landscapes.
No new information has been revealed, but it is known that the film's director will be Wes Ball — the director of The Maze Runner trilogy, and the producers of the adaptation are the creator of The Legend of Zelda series, Shigeru Miyamoto, and Avi Arad — former Chief Creative Officer at Marvel Entertainment.
The exact plot of the film is still unknown, but it is stated that viewers can expect the usual story of the brave knight Link standing against the evil villain Ganon, who will once again attempt to conquer the kingdom of Hyrule.
The premiere of The Legend of Zelda is scheduled for May 7, 2027.
