Apple's flagship also lagged behind the Chinese: iPhone 17 Pro Max charges twice as slowly as OnePlus 15 with a much smaller battery capacity
The authors of the TechDroider public conducted a comparison of the charging speed of two flagship smartphones — OnePlus 15 and iPhone 17 Pro Max and stated that the Chinese gadget significantly surpasses the newcomer from Apple.
What is Known
The battery capacity of OnePlus 15 is 7300 mAh, while the Apple flagship is 4832 mAh. It would seem that with such a difference in batteries, the American smartphone should charge to 100% much faster, but the tests showed the opposite.
According to TechDroider, OnePlus 15 charges from 0% to 100% in just 41 minutes with the help of a 120W SuperVOOC charger, while iPhone 17 Pro Max, even with an updated 40W wired fast charger, charges fully in 1 hour 24 minutes.
It is noteworthy that with such a battery difference, OnePlus 15 is slightly thinner than the iPhone and, by the way, costs twice less (1 TB version $760 versus $1,599).
