Fitness trackers are no longer in vogue: An unusual wearable gadget — a smart earring — has been presented
Lumia Health has announced Lumia 2 — a miniature wearable device in the form of an earring. Despite its appearance as a regular piece of jewelry, the gadget is equipped with sensors capable of tracking blood flow, heart rate, sleep quality, stress levels, and other vital signs in real time.
What is known
The development of Lumia 2 was led by former Bose engineer Daniel Lee, in close collaboration with scientists from Harvard, Johns Hopkins University, and Duke University.
Lumia 2 serves as a fitness tracker but is designed in a more stylish and minimalistic manner. The sensor, which tracks readings, is hidden on the back of the earlobe, does not require piercing, and looks like a regular earring or clip, allowing for selection of an option to match any style, including classic and more vibrant options. Moreover, users can choose any front part of the earring, not just the one offered by the company.

The battery life of Lumia 2 is up to 3 days, and charging is done through a magnetic case, similar to TWS earphone cases.
Sales of Lumia 2 will start in December 2025. Pre-orders are already open on the manufacturer's official website.
The device is priced at $249 in the US, with European prices expected to be between €249–269. Some features will require a $10 monthly subscription.
