Porsche officially unveiled the new Cayenne Electric. The crossover debuted in two versions starting at 105,200 euros.

What is known

The new Cayenne Electric is 55 millimeters longer than the Cayenne with an internal combustion engine (which remains on sale) but still hasn't exceeded the 5-meter mark. It is also 24 mm higher. However, the biggest difference lies in the wheelbase, which is almost 13 cm longer than the ICE model. Length, width, and height of the Cayenne Electric: 4985x1980x1674 mm. The distance between the front and rear axles is 3023 mm.

The car's design is defined by a long hood and narrow headlights emphasizing its width. These are complemented by contoured wings and a softly sloping roofline. The electric Cayenne also features frameless doors. The side sills are painted grey on the standard Cayenne and glossy black on the Cayenne Turbo. At the rear is a horizontal light strip and an illuminated Porsche logo. An off-road package is available as an option.

Active aerodynamic elements include movable air cooling flaps at the front, an adaptive roof spoiler, and active aerodynamic blades at the rear of the Turbo. They expand the side edges and improve airflow characteristics, increasing range, especially at high speeds.

The Cayenne's interior can also be personalized. Twelve cabin configuration options are available, with five trim packages and the same number of accent packages. New modes allow you to adapt the interior to your mood. The transparency of the panoramic sunroof can also be adjusted. The new surface heating system warms not only the seats but also contact surfaces such as armrests and panels.

The highlight of the electric Cayenne's interior is the Flow Display - a vertically positioned touchscreen inclined downward. It is complemented by a 14.25-inch instrument panel, as well as an optional 14.9-inch passenger display and driver head-up display. Physical buttons are provided for controlling climate control and audio system volume. The voice control system also provides online information access.

The rear seats are equipped with electric adjustments as standard. The trunk volume ranges from 781 to 1588 liters. An additional 90-liter trunk is also available in the front. Additionally, the car can tow trailers weighing up to 3.5 tons.

The Cayenne Electric has a power output of up to 325 kW (442 hp), followed by the Cayenne Turbo Electric with a maximum power of 850 kW (1155 hp). Both models have all-wheel drive.

The base Cayenne model develops a power output of 300 kW in normal mode and 325 kW with Launch Control, as well as a torque of 835 Nm. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 4.8 seconds.

The Cayenne Turbo Electric develops a power output of up to 630 kW (856 hp) under normal driving conditions. The push-to-pass function allows an additional 130 kW to be activated for ten seconds at the push of a button, bringing the total power to 760 kW. When Launch Control is activated, the all-wheel drive system develops a power output of up to 850 kW and a torque of up to 1500 Nm, allowing the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds, and from 0 to 200 km/h in 7.4 seconds.

Both modifications received a 113 kWh battery. The WLTP cycle range is up to 642 km for the Cayenne Electric and up to 623 km for the Cayenne Electric Turbo. Thanks to 800-volt technology, the Cayenne Electric charges with direct current at a power of up to 390 kW, and under certain conditions, even up to 400 kW. The state of charge (SoC) can be increased from 10 to 80 percent in less than 16 minutes, and the range can be replenished up to 325 km (Cayenne) or 315 km (Cayenne Turbo) in 10 minutes.

The Cayenne Electric is also the first Porsche to optionally support inductive charging with a capacity of up to 11 kW. To use Porsche Wireless Charging, the user simply needs to park the vehicle over a floor plate. The charging process then begins automatically.

In recovery mode, the Cayenne Electric returns up to 600 kW of power. In everyday driving, this is sufficient for almost any braking; mechanical friction brakes are only occasionally activated. For the Cayenne Turbo, a ceramic brake system (Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake, PCCB) is also available for this purpose.

Prices start at 105,200 euros, and the Turbo costs from 165,500 euros. Orders are already being accepted.
