Renault has introduced the new Trafic Electric van, which significantly outperforms the previous version in terms of power and range and has received 800-volt technology for the first time.

What is known

The model is equipped with a rear electric motor with a power of 150 kW and is capable of driving 350 to 450 km on a single charge according to the WLTP cycle, depending on the modification. The vehicle is built on the new Ampere platform, which provides scalability and allows for the first time to use the “Software Defined Vehicle” concept.

The model is available in two sizes: the base version is 4.87 m long and holds 5.1 cubic meters, extended to 5.27 m designed for 5.8 cubic meters. The height of 1.9 m allows for entry into underground parking. Side and rear doors are suitable for loading euro pallets.

The interior features a digital instrument panel (10 inches), a touchscreen (12 inches) with navigation and advanced route and charge planning. For the first time in Renault, AI integration has been announced: Google Gemini will soon replace Google Assistant in all new brand models with the OpenR Link system, and updates will arrive "over-the-air".

For professional use, there is special software, integration of corporate services, applications for emergency services, police, and others, as well as a driving style evaluation system Safety Coach. Trim includes gray textile and denim fabric, and multiple compartments and holders.

The new Trafic's electric motor develops 150 kW and 345 Nm, with a payload capacity of 1.25 tons and a maximum trailer mass of 2 tons. Two batteries have been announced: 450 km of range is provided by an NMC chemistry battery, 350 km by LFP. The capacity is rumored to be 60 and 81 kWh. Fast charging from 15 to 80% will take about 20 minutes, providing an additional 260 km in that time. The options list also includes Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) external device charging function.

Production will be set up in French Sandouville, along with battery and body manufacture for special versions. The electric Trafic will go on sale at the end of 2026. Prices will be announced closer to that time.
