The film company HBO held a major press conference where it shared information about two spin-offs of the cult series 'Game of Thrones' — 'House of the Dragon' and the yet to be released 'A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms'.

What is known

HBO announced that 'House of the Dragon', which is a prequel to 'Game of Thrones', has officially been renewed for a fourth season, which, as previously reported, will be the last and will be released in 2028. It is worth noting that the third season of this series will only come out in the summer of 2026.

HBO has no doubt about the success of 'Knight of the Seven Kingdoms', as it has already renewed it for a second season without waiting for the premiere of the first, which will take place very soon — in January 2026. The continuation of the series is expected in 2027.

Let us remind you, the events of 'Knight of the Seven Kingdoms' unfold 90 years before the start of the main saga and tell the story of the knight Duncan the Tall and his squire Egg — the future King Aegon V Targaryen.

Working on 'Knight of the Seven Kingdoms' are George R. R. Martin — the author of the book saga 'A Song of Ice and Fire' and Ira Parker — the screenwriter of 'House of the Dragon'. Among the executive producers are Sarah Bradshaw ('Andor', 'The Mummy'), Owen Harris ('Black Mirror: San Junipero'), Ryan Condal ('House of the Dragon') and Vince Gerardis ('Game of Thrones').
The directors are Owen Harris and Sarah Adina Smith, known for 'Lessons in Chemistry' and 'The Midnight Swim'.
