All on Arrakis! A free trial version of Dune: Awakening is available on Steam
The survival MMO simulator Dune: Awakening had a successful start, but within just a few months, the game lost a large portion of its active audience.
To improve the situation, the studio Funcom launched a campaign where everyone can familiarize themselves with the game based on the famous literary franchise for free.
What is known
Until November 27, there is free access to Dune: Awakening on Steam. Players can spend ten hours in the desert of planet Arrakis, with content being practically unrestricted.
Most of the Hagga Basin region locations are available for visit, and the achieved progress can be transferred to the full version, which is offered with a 25% discount on the standard edition until December 1.
The main restrictions concern social functions — developers will limit communication for "newbies" to exclude toxic behavior and influx of bots.
Recall that the events of Dune: Awakening unfold in an alternative timeline to Frank Herbert's books, where the key character Paul Atreides was not born, and in his absence, history went in a completely different scenario.
