X will show the country, location, and profile name change
The X platform (formerly Twitter) has begun rolling out a new feature "About this account" that provides more details about user profiles. It allows you to see the country of account creation, the user's location, as well as the history of name changes. It will also indicate whether the account is associated with the web version or the app store.
What is known
Initial tests began last month, and now the feature is appearing for some users. According to X's product department head Nikita Bier, the innovation is supposed to increase transparency and help verify content authenticity.
You can view information about your own account by clicking the "Join" button under the profile's biography. You can choose whether to show a specific country or just the region, by default the system displays the country.
X is expected to introduce additional privacy settings, specifically the ability to hide part of this data. If a user logs in via VPN, a warning will appear on the profile: "Country or region may be inaccurate."
