Anthropic released Opus 4.5: working with Excel, infinite chat, and a new level of security
The company Anthropic officially introduced the updated version of its flagship AI Opus 4.5. The novelty appeared almost simultaneously with Google Gemini 3 Pro and is focused on professional tasks, including coding and working with office programs. Developers paid special attention to Excel. Now Claude can function as a sidebar directly within the Microsoft application.
What is known
Claude for Excel is now available to all Max, Team, and Enterprise users. The AI supports file uploads, working with pivot tables and charts. According to Anthropic, internal testing showed +20% accuracy and +15% efficiency in data processing.
Opus 4.5 also received the infinite chat feature – the ability to conduct long sessions without losing context, even in different documents and chats. This feature has been long requested by users, and now it is available to all paid subscribers.
Another key advantage is improved work with agents. Opus 4.5 better plans and optimizes its own actions, increasing autonomy. Additionally, the model has become the safest in the lineup: it better protects against prompt injection attacks and even surpasses Gemini 3 Pro according to developers' assessments.
Opus 4.5 is already available through all Anthropic applications and API. For developers, prices start from 5 dollars per million tokens.
