Huawei has unveiled the flagship foldable smartphone Mate X7 with premium design, cool cameras, and an impressive price

Along with the presentation of The presentation of the flagship smartphones Huawei Mate 80 with a premium design and impressive characteristics took place, Huawei also unveiled the foldable Mate X7.

The device received an updated design with a slimmer body, enhanced protection, and improved cameras, making it a full-fledged flagship in the foldable segment.

What is known

The Huawei Mate X7 features an external screen with a 6.49” diagonal, Full HD+ resolution, 120 Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 3000 nits. The internal screen measures 8”, with a resolution of 2416×2210 pixels, 120 Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 2500 nits.

Huawei paid special attention to the compactness of the Mate X7: it has a thickness of 4.5 mm when unfolded and 9.5 mm when folded, weighing 235 grams.

The Mate X7 is equipped with the proprietary Kirin 9030 chipset, supports up to 20 GB of RAM and up to 1 TB of internal, and features water resistance according to IP58 and IP59 standards, which is rare for foldable smartphones.

The screen is protected by second-generation Kunlun Glass, and Huawei demonstrated its durability in stress tests: the device withstands hot water, impacts with a metal ball, and multiple bends.

The battery capacity is 5600 mAh, supporting 66W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. The Mate X7 includes an “Expedition” mode in which the smartphone operates for up to 10 days on a single charge.

The Mate X7 cameras are similar to the flagship Mate 80 Pro and have:

  • primary module of 50 MP with variable aperture;
  • periscope lens with 3.5x optical zoom;
  • ultra-wide-angle lens with 40 MP sensor;
  • 8 MP front camera.

The main module of the Collector's Edition features a 1/1.28-inch optical format sensor, which according to Huawei captures twice as much light as the iPhone 17 Pro Max. The periscope module with an F/2.2 lens captures 127% more light than its counterpart on the iPhone 17 Pro Max.

The new product is offered in five configurations at the following prices (converted from yuan):

  • 12/256 GB — $1830;
  • 12/512 GB — $1970;
  • 16/512 GB Collector’s Edition — $2110;
  • 16 GB/1 TB Collector’s Edition — $2250;
  • 20 GB/1 TB Collector’s Edition (with stylus) — $2480.

The Mate X7 is presented in five colors: Obsidian Black, Cloud Blue, Cloud White, Universal Red, and a luxurious Phantom Purple for the Collector’s Edition.
