Porsche offers extreme key fob customization
The Porsche configurator now allows you to create key fobs with virtually unlimited combinations of materials and colors, offering customers opportunities for the boldest design solutions.
What is known
The 'Interior' section of the Cayenne EV configurator has its own tab for keys, floor mats, and document holders for owners. Porsche offers three customization options for key fobs.
The first option is a standard painted key with a leather cover. The personalization feature provides access to 12 subtle color solutions for the key itself, a choice between leather and Race-Tex material for the cover, as well as several color options for the lanyard stitching. The cost of this option is $510.
For the same price, the personalized key offers several additional shades, but the choice remains quite modest. Truly wide opportunities open up with the option of an individual key for $770 — here the number of colors, textures, and combinations increases manifold.
Three materials are available for the upper part of the body: leather, Race-Tex, or painted plastic. When choosing paint, Porsche offers 16 colors, including extravagant options like Ruby Star Neo or Python Green.
The lower part of the body has the same materials and all the same paint options — plus a few additional ones. Choosing leather for the lower part unlocks colors like Aquamarine Blue, for instance. As far as can be judged, there are no restrictions on combinations.
After selecting colors for the exterior of the body, you can proceed to customize the key fob itself. Here too, Porsche allows customization of the upper and lower parts from leather, Race-Tex, or paint with a choice of 16 options. The most unexpected combinations are technically possible — from orange leather on the upper half to Guards Red paint on the lower one.
Porsche has previously offered personalized key fobs to customers. Similar options are available for other models, such as the Macan EV. However, the customization options for the Cayenne EV stand out with an especially wide range of choices.
