In all markets except the Chinese one, its sales were significantly lower than the company's expectations, causing the Media: Apple has virtually halted production of the ultra-thin iPhone Air, but is ramping up the release of other smartphones in the lineup, and in many stores, the iPhone Air is sold at a large discount.

We already know that this situation scared Samsung, and they The release of Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge has been canceled. But it turned out that Apple's failure seriously concerned Chinese manufacturers as well.

What is known

Media, citing industry sources, report that a number of China's largest smartphone manufacturers, including Xiaomi, Oppo, and vivo, have canceled or frozen projects for the development and production of ultra-thin models.

Chinese companies closely followed sales and the market's reaction to the iPhone Air and concluded that releasing ultra-thin smartphones is impractical, at least at this stage. And the cancellation of Galaxy S26 Edge only confirmed the correctness of their decision.

It is worth noting that the main customer base of these companies is used to smartphones with large battery capacities and excellent cameras, elements that have to be sacrificed for the thinness of the smartphone. Therefore, their decision is logical: to do well what brings profit.
