The Spanish brand Cupra has released official photos of the new Raval hatchback. It is still hidden under camouflage, but will soon become a production car.

What is known

Cupra Raval EV is built on the updated MEB+ platform of the Volkswagen Group - the same one that will serve as the basis for the VW ID. Polo, ID. Cross, and Skoda Epic. All four models will be produced in Spain, and Cupra not only developed its version but also led the chassis tuning for the entire family. Each brand has its own character, but Raval, unsurprisingly, is the most daring.

With a length of just over 4 meters, the Raval belongs to the subcompact class, but Cupra insists that it's not just a car for school runs. Engineers reduced the ground clearance by 15 mm compared to other cars on the MEB+ platform, stiffened the suspension, and added progressive steering.

Dynamic Chassis Control adaptive dampers are unlikely to be included in the standard equipment. However, even the base models at launch will get one front electric motor with 211 hp (155 kW). The battery capacity is not yet disclosed, and the officially stated range of the model is 450 km.

Switching from the Dynamic base trim to Dynamic Plus adds more ADAS features, smart parking, matrix LED headlights, sports seats, and a premium Sennheiser audio system with 12 speakers.

But the top version VZ is a whole different beast thanks to a more powerful motor with 226 hp (166 kW), an electronic differential, and sporty steering. The Raval VZ also gets a track widened by 10 mm, standard 19-inch wheels with a striking circular saw style design, and sport seats with Dinamica material. The downside is that the range drops to 400 km.

Sales of Cupra Raval will start in 2026. The initial modifications will cost around 26,000 euros (approximately 30,000 USD). Later, cheaper versions with a lower power engine may appear.
