Soon Samsung Galaxy smartphones may receive an important mobile hotspot update. According to leaked information, Google is testing a new frequency configuration for sharing mobile internet via Wi-Fi: 2.4 GHz and 6 GHz. This will ensure high compatibility with older devices (via 2.4 GHz) and at the same time maximum speed for new ones (via 6 GHz).

What is known

Samsung flagships, such as the Galaxy S25 Ultra and Fold 7, already have four options: only 2.4 GHz, a combination of 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, priority 5 GHz or 6 GHz. However, the new combination of 2.4 GHz and 6 GHz may become the optimal solution that combines compatibility and performance.

Support for this option has already appeared in the test version of Android (Canary). And since Samsung usually adds all Android features to its One UI shell, the new option may appear soon.
