The Ford Bronco family is preparing to expand, this time with a model developed specifically for Europe. According to insider information, the new crossover will begin production in Valencia in 2027.

What is known

According to Autonews Europe, Ford will introduce the Bronco name to European buyers, relying on the brand's American heritage. Ford has already tested this strategy on the Mustang, Mustang Mach-E, and Explorer models.

Interestingly, the new Bronco is not expected to replace the third generation Kuga, which debuted in 2019 and was updated in 2024. Instead, it will be positioned slightly below in the model lineup, filling the gap between Kuga and the smaller Puma.

Despite having a similar nature and market positioning, the future crossover will not be a copy of the Bronco Sport, which is currently sold in the U.S. Nevertheless, it is expected to inherit the characteristic "boxy" profile and rugged design features that connect all members of the Bronco family.

Sources indicate that the crossover is being built on the Ford C2 platform, which is also used for the Focus, Mondeo, Bronco Sport, Escape/Kuga, and Maverick models, as well as the Lincoln Corsair and Nautilus.

The new model is expected to receive a plug-in hybrid powertrain. A version with a regular hybrid is also being considered.

Ford declined to comment on the rumors, although the company previously confirmed that a model with a "multi-energy" powertrain will hit the assembly line at the Valencia plant starting in 2027. The same facility currently produces the Kuga.
