YouTube launches its first personalized yearly report on watched videos
YouTube has presented its first-ever annual selection of videos that a user watched throughout the year. It is available separately from the YouTube Music Recap statistics that existed previously.
What is known
The new YouTube Recap includes up to 12 personalized cards summarizing the year. Among them are favorite channels, topics, changes in viewing habits, and even the viewer's personality type. For example, Skill Builder is aimed at users who learn through videos, while Sunshiner is for those seeking positive content. Other types include Trailblazer, Wonder Seeker, Connector, and Dreamer.
Users will also see top performers and songs of the year, with more comprehensive music analytics available in the YouTube Music app.
Recap is available from December 2nd for users in North America and will appear worldwide within a week. You can view it on the main page or in the 'You' tab on YouTube, both in the mobile app and on the desktop.
YouTube noted that the development was preceded by over 50 tests, and the idea was suggested by the users themselves. Simultaneously, the company published annual ratings. For the sixth year in a row, MrBeast became the top creator, The Joe Rogan Experience is the most popular podcast, and the song of the year is Die with a Smile by Bruno Mars and Lady Gaga.
