Introducing Xreal 1S — lightweight AR glasses that transform 2D content into 3D
The Chinese startup Xreal has introduced the augmented reality headset Xreal 1S — lightweight AR glasses with support for automatic conversion of 2D content into 3D.
What is known
The glasses feature two 0.68” Sony OLED microdisplays with a resolution of 1920 × 1200 pixels for each eye and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. An important feature is the automatic conversion of 2D video into 3D, allowing familiar content to be viewed in a volumetric format. At the same time, the brightness of the displays has been increased to 700 nits, and the field of view has been expanded to 52 degrees, making the image more vivid and realistic.
The headset weighs only 82 grams, making it comfortable for prolonged use.
Importantly, the gadget does not have a built-in battery — it is powered directly from a connected device (smartphone, PC, or console). For autonomous use, the company offers the external Xreal Neo power block with a 10,000 mAh battery.
The Xreal 1S glasses are already available in Japan for around $437, with an international release expected in 2026.
