Garmin has released a beta update for mid-range smartwatches – Forerunner 570 and Forerunner 970. They appeared nearly a month after the stable release of version 15.16, which added the Health Status function, app-level notification management, and a "palm touch" gesture to exit notifications.

What is known

The Forerunner 570 has now received beta version 15.31, and the Forerunner 970 – 15.30. The reason for the different firmware numbers is not specified. The official changelog only mentions "bug fixes and improvements," so the exact innovations remain unknown.

However, one of the known issues related to the display of text messages on the Forerunner 970 is still unresolved. Users complain that notifications do not appear on the screen and are not accompanied by sound or vibration. Garmin has yet to comment on the situation.

The beta updates are available to all participants of Garmin's test program.

You can download them via:

The price of watches starts at $646 on Amazon.
