SpaceX conducted another Starlink satellite launch. On December 4, 2025, a Falcon 9 rocket launched 28 devices for global internet coverage from the Vandenberg US Space Force Base in California. The launch took place at 15:42 Eastern Time (20:42 GMT; 12:42 local time).

What is known

The first stage of the rocket successfully landed on the SpaceX drone ship named Of Course I Still Love You 8.5 minutes after liftoff. This was already the fourth flight of this booster with index B1097, which had previously been used for the Sentinel-6B mission launch and two previous Starlink batches.

The rocket's upper stage continued its flight to low Earth orbit, where satellite deployment is planned approximately an hour later. They will join the world's largest orbital constellation—about 9,000 active Starlink satellites. In total, SpaceX has already launched over 10,000 such devices over the past 6.5 years.

This launch was the 156th for the Falcon 9 rocket in 2025, strengthening the company's record for the number of launches in a year. More than 70% of Falcon 9 missions this year were for expanding the Starlink network.
