The analytical agency Counterpoint Research published the results of a study on the foldable smartphone segment for the third quarter of 2025, which showed the strengthening of Samsung's leadership position.

What is known

According to Counterpoint, in Q3 2025, Samsung's share of the global foldable smartphone market was 64%, which is an 8% increase from the same period last year.

The main reason for the sales growth is the successful release of the flagship line Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7, which increased Samsung's shipments by 32%. Counterpoint explains it as follows:

A thinner body, lightweight design, increased hinge durability, and less visible creases in the Z Fold 7 enhanced its premium appeal and resulted in a more significant than expected sales growth.

It's noteworthy that before the launch of the Z Fold 7, Samsung was behind Huawei and Motorola in foldable device sales. Incidentally, these manufacturers are also showing steady growth in their gadget shipments.

On the other hand, the sales of foldable smartphones by Honor and Xiaomi have dropped significantly.
