The Brutal Strategy Frostpunk 2 Received its First Expansion Fractured Utopias with a Deep Faction Relationship System
The Polish studio 11 bit released the first paid expansion for the post-apocalyptic strategy game Frostpunk 2.
What is Known
The DLC is titled Fractured Utopias and focuses on deepening and expanding mechanics related to the eight factions featured in Frostpunk 2.
Each faction has its own views on how to build the perfect society, and their methods of achieving these goals vary.
The expansion introduces the “utopia tree” into the game, and as you progress through Frostpunk 2, branches related to different factions will unfold. Establishing relationships with factions unlocks different laws, buildings, decrees, and other opportunities.
The Fractured Utopias DLC features the following content:
- One new map (also available in the free update);
- Two additional stories — “Fatalists” and “Plague”;
- Eight faction utopias, each unlocking different mechanics, tools, and endings;
- 8 new hubs — one for each faction;
- 8 new residential area options for each faction;
- 12 unique unlocks per faction, including laws, abilities, and more;
- Over a hundred new story events.
The DLC is available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series, including Game Pass.
