Renault Group and Ford Motor announced a strategic partnership aimed at expanding Ford's electric vehicle lineup for European customers and enhancing the competitiveness of both companies in the European automotive market.

What is known

The key element of this collaboration is an agreement to develop two affordable electric vehicles under the Ford brand. The new models will be built on the Ampere platform of Renault Group. Production will also be carried out by Renault Group in northern France.

The companies promise that these two vehicles will offer unique driving characteristics, brand authenticity of Ford, and an intuitive user experience. They will be the first step in Ford’s large-scale new product strategy in Europe. The first model is expected to appear in showrooms at the beginning of 2028.

In addition to collaboration in the electric vehicle field, Renault Group and Ford have also signed a Letter of Intent to cooperate in the area of European light commercial vehicles. Under this document, the partners will explore the possibility of jointly developing and producing light commercial vehicles (LCV) under the Renault and Ford brands.
