The new Citroën ELO concept is a logical continuation of the OLI concept car presented in 2022. Both projects are created as idea labs, inspiring Citroën to think about the future.

What is known

ELO is conceived as an attractive, versatile, and spacious vehicle — a kind of small house on wheels. According to Citroën, the vehicle feels at home in the city, but also invites you to venture beyond its boundaries.

The length of the electric van is 4.1 meters, and the height is 1.7 meters. The vehicle features a flexible cabin layout that allows seating for up to six people.

The friendly character of ELO is highlighted by its orange body, which shimmers from yellow to red depending on the lighting. The interior is also done in orange.

Citroën has not revealed technical details yet. The company only stated that the vehicle is built on a special electric platform. It might be the STLA Small — after all, partner brand Peugeot recently presented a concept car on this platform.

Four side doors open in opposite directions, and there is no central pillar. This layout provides an opening width of 1.92 meters. Inside, at the bottom of the windshield, there is a kind of projection display. According to Citroën, the information is displayed on a "transparent film," creating the impression that it floats above the hood. This is a further development of the SmartBand displays in the Citroën Oli.

There is no dashboard: all controls are on the steering wheel, flattened at the top and bottom. Elements similar to joysticks are located on the left and right, allowing control of various functions.

The driver's seat is centrally located — it can be rotated for conversation or work. Behind it are three rear seats. Two additional seats can be folded diagonally behind the driver. Moreover, seat configurations are available that allow turning the vehicle into a sleeping place for two or a home cinema.

The three rear seats are removable and can be used as places for outdoor relaxation. Hooks are placed on all four doors, allowing a fabric roof to be stretched on both sides of the ELO for protection from the sun and rain. An integrated compressor in the bottom can be used to inflate swim gear, paddle boards, or bicycle tires. ELO also supports V2L technology, meaning it can power electrical devices.

The public presentation of Citroën ELO will take place on January 9 at the Brussels Motor Show.
