Google added new one-hand control gestures to Pixel Watch 4. Two months after launch, the model receives double pinch and wrist turn functions, which were previously mostly available on Apple Watch. The update aims to expand touch-free interaction capabilities, which reviewers noted during the initial tests of the model.

Double pinch allows you to double press the fingers of the same hand to perform quick actions: answer or end a call, pause a timer, or interact with interface elements when the other hand is occupied. Contextual hints will appear on the Pixel Watch 4 screen, indicating in which situations the gesture can be applied.

The wrist turn works similarly to the wrist flick gesture on Apple Watch. The user can turn their wrist to dismiss an incoming call or perform other quick actions without touching the screen.

Google also updated the training for the raise to talk gesture, which activates Gemini after raising the wrist to the mouth. Previously, it required too precise a motion and had to be launched from the home screen. The new step-by-step guide should make the function simpler and more reliable.
