Winter Has Come to Battlefield 6: The Shooter Introduces a Snow-Covered Empire State Map, with Soldiers Struggling with the Cold
Electronic Arts has released a winter update for the popular online shooter Battlefield 6.
What is known
As part of the Winter Offensive event, players are offered a snow-covered version of the Empire State map, which features close-quarters combat in the center of New York with military equipment.
Also in the game, a temporary event called Ice Lock Gauntle has started, featuring an unusual Freeze mechanic — soldiers freeze quickly in the cold, and the only way to survive is to keep moving.
Winter Offensive also offers a new battle pass, consisting of 11 levels, allowing players to obtain thematic cosmetic items and unique weapons — the Ice Axe.

The event is accompanied by a small update with bug fixes and balance adjustments for Battlefield 6. However, many gamers note that after the patch, the shooter's performance has significantly decreased, and this trend is observed after each major update.
Battlefield 6 is available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series.
