Garmin has begun rolling out the stable system software update version 20.24 for Fenix 8, Fenix 8 Pro, Fenix E, Enduro 3, and Tactix 8 smartwatches. This update fixes three common issues that users complained about. Specifically, it addresses map malfunctions, crashes caused by the flashlight shortcut, and SOS signal timer issues.

What is known

According to Garmin data published on the official forum, one of the corrected errors could cause a system crash when the maps were locked. Another was related to the use of the flashlight shortcut, and the third to incorrect playback of the SOS signal countdown during sleep.

The 20.24 update started arriving just a few days after the 20.23 beta version, which addressed a vibration issue. As before, the update is being rolled out in stages. Currently, about 50% of users have received the new firmware. The company has not yet announced information on the completion of the update distribution.

Fenix 8 model (51 mm, Solar, Sapphire) is available on Amazon for $950
