YouTube TV will launch over 10 themed packages at the beginning of 2026. This will be the first time the service segments its channel lineup in a model similar to cable television.

What is known

Among the new packages will be a sports package, which will include major TV channels, including FS1, NBC Sports Network, all ESPN networks, and ESPN Unlimited. Additionally, NFL Sunday Ticket and RedZone can be connected. Users will retain access to features like unlimited recording (DVR), multiview, highlights viewing, and fantasy mode.

YouTube TV reports that news, family content, and entertainment packages will also be available. The full list of genres is not yet disclosed.

Currently, the basic YouTube TV subscription costs $83 per month and includes live broadcasts and on-demand content from major TV channels. Genre packages are expected to be cheaper, but prices have not yet been announced by the company.

The Vice President of YouTube TV, Christian Oestlien, said that the new subscription system is designed to offer users more opportunities for personalized content customization. According to him, it will be possible to keep the basic plan with 100+ channels, choose sports, combine several genres, or focus only on family and entertainment content.

Similar formats are already being implemented by other platforms, including DirecTV, Fubo, and Sling TV.
