After an extended theatrical run, the sports blockbuster F1: The Movie is now available for streaming on Apple TV. The film grossed over $630 million worldwide, becoming Apple's most successful original film.

What is known

The film was directed by Joseph Kosinski, known for Top Gun: Maverick and Tron: Legacy. At the heart of the story is former racing star Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt), who returns to Formula 1 to help a team on the brink of collapse. He's persuaded by an old friend, played by Javier Bardem.

To convey the racing spirit as realistically as possible, seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton joined the film's producers. The film features numerous racing scenes shot with specialized cameras and high-speed technology. Apple brand products can be seen in some scenes.

The film is available on Apple TV, a service that has now officially removed the '+' from its name. New users have access to a 7-day trial period, after which the subscription costs $13 per month.
