The next Microsoft game on PlayStation 5 and Switch 2 will be the adventure action South of Midnight
Microsoft has revealed another game that will soon be released on Sony and Nintendo consoles.

Xbox Game Studios and developers from Compulsion Games announced that in spring 2026 the adventure folk-action South of Midnight will be released on PlayStation 5 and Switch 2. The exact date is still unknown, but it can be assumed that the release will happen in April after a year of console exclusivity on Xbox.

Recall, South of Midnight is a dynamic action game from the authors of the conceptual dystopia We Happy Few, set in an alternate rural southern USA, where local folklore blends with magic and fantasy monsters.
The game features unusual locations and memorable enemies. The main character, Hazel, possesses several supernatural abilities that allow her to sense echoes of the past and use magic. On her journey, she encounters quirky monsters and meets interesting characters.
The developers have enriched South of Midnight with a captivating story and dynamic combat system, making each boss fight a worthy challenge, yet without excessive difficulty.
The game received good reviews but went unnoticed by the wider public, although it won an award at TGA 2025 in the "Best Game with a Special Message" category.
