Apple TV for Android received Google Cast support
The Apple TV app for Android now supports Google Cast. The update allows streaming Apple TV+ movies and shows from a smartphone to a TV. Previously, this feature was not available in the Android version.
What is known
Apple launched a full-featured app for Android in February 2025. After adding Google Cast, the service better integrates into the Android ecosystem. This contrasts with Netflix, which in 2025 removed Cast support in mobile apps for most modern devices.
The feature also allows continuing viewing from where the user left off. The app supports downloading videos for offline access via Wi-Fi or a mobile network. Available Apple TV+ series include Severance, Silo, and For All Mankind, as well as shows Ted Lasso, Shrinking, and Slow Horses.
New users can take advantage of a free seven-day trial period. After that, a subscription can be made through Google Play at the standard price.
