The first unofficial render of the iPhone Fold revealed the unusual aspect ratio of the display of Apple's new gadget
Apple has not even confirmed work on its first foldable smartphone, and information about what the ambitious new product may look like has already appeared on the internet.
What is known
The iPhone-ticker portal got access to leaked CAD designs of the foldable iPhone, and based on the obtained information, an approximate render of the iPhone Fold/Ultra has been created.
Apparently, the smartphone will feature displays with an unusual aspect ratio: the outer screen will have a diagonal of 5.49" with a ratio of 1.49:1 and a resolution of 2088×1422, allowing for the maximum amount of information to be displayed on a small screen size.
The inner screen will have a diagonal of 7.76" with a ratio of 1.43:1 and a resolution of 2713×1920.
The CAD designs and renders of the iPhone Fold confirm that the smartphone will have two front cameras.
Additionally, the leak of the designs revealed that in the unfolded state, the thickness of Apple's foldable smartphone will be 4.8 mm — 0.5 mm more than the Galaxy Z Fold 7.
The release of the first foldable iPhone is expected in the fall of 2026 at a price of $2400.
