BMW has added a set of new apps to models with the M index. They were developed for deeper interaction with the driver and full use of the capabilities of the new BMW OS.

What is known

The first to receive the "M Cockpit", "M Drag Meter" and "M Channel" apps will be iX3 cars with M Sport Package and M Sport Package Pro. Then they will appear in other models of the M lineup.

The "M Cockpit" app provides drivers with comprehensive real-time information about the car's condition. It visualizes various parameters related to driving dynamics, chassis, powertrain, and geodata, and offers a high level of personalization. Drivers can configure up to five panels on the central display, each of which displays real-time data tailored to their preferences.

The "M Drag Meter" is developed specifically for drag racing. The app, featuring gamification elements, displays acceleration and deceleration values, as well as the driver's reaction time during a standstill start on the central display. This functionality is based on speed and distance measurements with GPS support. Thanks to customization options, this integrated performance measurement tool can be adapted to individual requirements. Drivers can simultaneously view up to four measurement criteria.

The "M Channel" is a dedicated channel with BMW M video content on demand, accessible via the central display. It includes training videos, motorsports materials, and various stories for BMW customers.

BMW is also expanding the digital ecosystem beyond the car. Starting in Germany, owners of M models released since 2014 will have access to the new BMW M Community in the My BMW App. Through this platform, members can receive exclusive offers from partners, invitations to special events, and exchange messages with other M owners.
