The next free giveaway as part of the Epic Games Store's large-scale Christmas promotion has begun.

What is known

Until the evening of December 22, everyone can add the game Sorry We're Closed by the French indie studio à la mode games to their library.

In terms of gameplay, it's a classic survival horror with a fixed camera, intricate locations, and a large number of resilient enemies.

This is the story of a girl named Michelle who finds herself cursed by a powerful demon and to lift the curse, she has to interact with angels, demons, and strange townsfolk.

The player explores the city at night, communicates with characters, and makes decisions that affect the course of events and the ending.

The game is presented in a bright, somewhat grotesque style, and the narrative atmosphere is reminiscent of a noir detective and received high scores on Metacritic — up to 90–100 points in individual reviews.

Notably, it was Sorry We're Closed that received the award in the 'Best Debut' category at The Indie Game Awards 2025 after the organizers revoked the prize from Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 due to the authors using generative AI in the game's creation.
