Sales have started in Europe for the ASUS ROG Strix XG248QSG Ace monitor, which will interest esports players and competitive game enthusiasts because its main feature is a record refresh rate of 610 Hz

What is known

For such a high refresh rate, gamers will have to pay with image quality, as the TN matrix used in the ROG Strix XG248QSG Ace significantly lags behind IPS and OLED panels.

Main characteristics of the monitor:

  • display: 24.1″ Super TN matrix with a resolution of 1920×1080 (Full HD);
  • peak brightness is 400 nits (cd/㎡). This corresponds to the VESA DisplayHDR 400 standard, meaning basic HDR support but without deep contrast like OLED or Mini-LED;
  • refresh rate 610 Hz (in overclocking mode);
  • response time: 0.1 ms, input lag 0.8 ms;
  • technologies: Extreme Low Motion Blur 2 (ELMB 2) to minimize blur and increase brightness by 65%;
  • rich color reproduction up to 90% DCI-P3;
  • support for NVIDIA G-Sync and AMD FreeSync, which eliminate frame tearing;
  • connections: DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.1, 3.5 mm audio jack.

The monitor is installed on a compact stand that frees up space for a keyboard and mouse.

The new product from ASUS went on sale in Europe at a price of about €1000.
