The tragic news for the entire gaming community has spread worldwide — gaming industry veteran and creator of numerous popular shooters Vince Zampella died in a car accident.

The tragedy was first reported by NBC4 journalists, and the information was later confirmed by, among others, Geoff Keighley.

According to official data, the car accident occurred on the afternoon of December 21st in Los Angeles on the Angeles Crest Highway. Another person was in the car with Vince Zampella, who also died.

Vince Zampella was 55 years old and left a massive mark on the gaming industry. He was the creator of the legendary military shooter Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, was at the origins of the Call of Duty franchise, and led the creation of Titanfall, Apex Legends, and two parts of Star Wars Jedi. His last work was Battlefield 6 — for this game, Zampella became the vice president of EA and oversaw the collaborative work of five studios, and judging by the shooter's success, he succeeded.

The premature death of Vince Zampella is a colossal loss for the gaming industry.
