Garmin updated Venu 4: weight and battery life tracking added
Garmin has released a new beta version of firmware 16.11 for the Venu 4 smartwatch. The update is available as part of the Beta Program and will serve as the basis for a future stable release. The version number matches releases for Forerunner 570 and 970, but contains fewer changes.
What is known
The update adds six new features compared to version 15.33. Among the main ones are three new widgets (glances): for tracking favorite sports teams, battery level and performance, as well as for weight monitoring. In addition, if the user forgets to stop the timer after finishing a workout, there is now an option to trim the activity to the finish point.
Also, the voice prompts feature has been updated to version 2.07, but Garmin does not specify the details. Another innovation is the adjustment of training tips considering recent dives, which will be useful for divers.
Venu 4 went on sale in September and received only four beta updates, which is significantly fewer than the Fenix or Forerunner series models. Currently, the watch is priced on Amazon at $550. It is expected that the stable firmware version with new features will be available soon.
