Iveco Bus delivered the first hydrogen bus in Europe
Iveco Bus delivered the first series-produced hydrogen city bus GX 337 H2 LINIUM in Europe. The vehicle started operating in the Lorient area in western France.
What is known
The ceremonial handover of the bus took place with the participation of local authorities. On December 22, 2025, the bus started the T5 route of the IziLo Mobilités network, connecting Lorient, Lanester, Hennebont, and Inzinzac-Lochrist. In 2026, Iveco Bus plans to deliver 10 more such vehicles. Later, the total number of hydrogen buses in the fleet will reach 19.
The GX 337 H2 LINIUM is equipped with a fuel cell system rated at 100 kW and four hydrogen storage tanks. The energy system works in conjunction with a traction battery with a capacity of 69 kWh, developed by FPT Industrial. According to the manufacturer, the bus's range reaches 450 km, and hydrogen consumption is 15-20% lower than the market average. The cabin capacity is up to 110 passengers.

The bus is equipped with a heat pump providing a comfortable interior climate and is fully adapted for passengers with reduced mobility. The model also supports Iveco On digital services, which allow operators to monitor the technical condition and operational efficiency of the fleet.
Giorgio Zino, head of commercial operations for Iveco Bus in Europe, noted that the first European delivery of the GX 337 H2 LINIUM confirms the company's commitment to cooperate with local communities in the transition to low-carbon mobility. According to him, hydrogen technology combines autonomy, comfort, and energy efficiency.
