TCL introduced the Note A1 Nxt Paper tablet with a unique flicker-free LCD screen of its own design and extensive stylus support
The Chinese company TCL, a leader in television production, introduced the unusual Note A1 Nxtpaper tablet.
The novelty is positioned as a versatile and convenient tool for reading, working with documents, creativity, and note-taking, offering an alternative to both classic LCD tablets and E Ink devices.
What is known
Note A1 Nxtpaper features a proprietary "paper-like" Nxtpaper display and advanced tools for working with a stylus.
The tablet has an 11.5" matte LCD screen with an anti-glare coating, reduced blue light emission, and "zero flicker" technology. Unlike, for example, E Ink, the panel supports 16.7 million colors and a high refresh rate while maintaining tactile sensations close to writing on paper.
The tablet is designed for professional use: it supports a stylus with two types of tips and a built-in digital eraser, and input lag is minimized. For recording meetings and dictations, there is a system of eight microphones, which sets this TCL novelty apart from similar devices. Artificial intelligence helps convert handwritten notes into printed text, create brief summaries, and transcribe voice recordings.
The device's body is made in a thin form factor — about 5.5 mm — with a weight of approximately 500 g, and the wide side frame makes holding the tablet with one hand easier.
TCL positions the Note A1 as a versatile tool for reading, working with documents, creativity, and note-taking, offering an alternative to both classic LCD tablets and E Ink devices.
The tablet is not yet on sale. TCL is preparing a launch through a crowdfunding campaign, with an expected starting price of around $420.
