Casio released new G-Shock with Hokusai engravings
Casio has officially unveiled two new G-Shock DW-5600 models designed in the style of Japanese artist Katsushika Hokusai. The DW-5600KHFM-1 and DW-5600KHS25-1 watches feature the classic "square" case design and cost ¥18,700 (approximately $119) in Japan.
What is known
The DW-5600KHFM-1 model is inspired by the engraving "Under the Mannenbashi Bridge in Fukagawa". A fragment of the scene is printed on the display background, and upon activation of the backlight, the bridge becomes more visible. The engraving 日本 (Japan) is on the back cover.
The second model DW-5600KHS25-1 is based on the engraving "White Rain in Yamashita". The image of Mount Fuji and the rain is printed on the lower part of the display, and it is also illuminated by the LED screen.
Technically, the new items do not differ from the standard DW-5600: shock-resistant case, water resistance up to 200 meters, stopwatch, countdown timer, and alarms. The kit includes special packaging with engravings images.
