Mercedes-Benz launches electric GLC in the US market packed with advanced technologies
Mercedes-Benz will present a fully electric GLC crossover for the American market at the Consumer Electronics Show 2026, which will be held from January 6 to 9. The company will show the production version of the model in the US for the first time and will also reveal interior details.
What is known
The electric GLC features an updated design with signature star-shaped LED daytime running lights and a grille illuminated with a pattern of hundreds of pixels. However, Mercedes places a key emphasis on the interior. It is intended to maintain the GLC's status as one of the brand's most popular premium crossovers.
The car uses a new MB.OS software platform with artificial intelligence support. It integrates solutions from Microsoft and Google and supports Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos in Apple CarPlay. An optional 39.1-inch MBUX Hyperscreen is available — the largest single display ever installed in Mercedes production models. Also announced are an optional interior with certified vegan materials and smart air suspension.

The electric GLC is built on an 800-volt architecture, which should support high charging speeds. Mercedes has confirmed that the GLC 400 version will develop 483 hp. The claimed range is up to 443 miles under the WLTP cycle (about 713 km), but under American EPA cycle measurements, the figure is expected to be lower.
The launch of the electric GLC in the US market is planned for the second half of 2026. Prices have not yet been announced. As a reference, Mercedes notes that the gasoline GLC of the 2026 model year starts at about $50,000. The electric version is likely to cost around $65,000.
In addition to the GLC premiere, Mercedes will show new multimedia capabilities for the electric CLA sedan at CES 2026. The model will receive video streaming with DTS AutoStage Video from TiVo, and the RIDEVU service from Sony will offer IMAX content with DTS:X surround sound. Such features will eventually appear in other brand models. The electric CLA is already on sale in the US at a price of $47,000, with a cheaper hybrid version expected in the future.
