Budget MacBook debuts in Spring 2026 — TrendForce analysts share forecast on Apple's plans
Rumors have long circulated that Apple will release a budget MacBook model in Spring 2026, which should interest users who cannot or do not want to purchase flagship laptops.
The information and analytical agency TrendForce shared its forecast on the release dates of the simplified MacBook.
What is known
TrendForce representatives expect Apple to indeed release a 12.9” MacBook in Spring 2026.
Experts noted that although the release window is not perfect, increased supply chain efficiency and a competitive price should help Apple attract buyers.
Recall, according to leaks, the budget MacBook will receive the Apple A18 Pro SoC, which was previously used in the iPhone 16 Pro. This processor will not be able to deliver the highest performance, but its capabilities are much higher than those of the M1 chip, which is the base of the cheapest MacBook model at the moment, which, as we recall, is still extremely popular.
The novelty will not have Thunderbolt ports and keyboard backlighting, and memory may be limited to 8/256 GB. Estimated price of the budget MacBook — $600-800.
