LG Electronics brought to CES 2026 one of the most ambitious developments in the field of home robotics — LG CLOiD, a home robot designed to perform everyday tasks and manage the smart home ecosystem. The innovation is part of a new concept by the Korean company "Zero Labor Home," where routine tasks are completely taken over by robots and AI devices.

What is known

LG CLOiD uses a combination of AI algorithms, computer vision, and deep integration with the LG ThinQ ecosystem to perform household tasks without human intervention. At CES, the robot demonstrated how it can fetch food from the refrigerator, prepare a simple breakfast, start washing and dishwashing machines, sort and fold clothes after drying.

These examples are designed to show how CLOiD analyzes user habits and accurately manages household appliances.

The robot consists of a mobile body with manipulator arms and a mobile platform with autonomous navigation. Two arms with seven degrees of freedom provide flexibility comparable to that of a human, and five independent fingers on each hand enable careful handling of objects of various sizes. The tilting torso helps work with objects at levels from the floor to the countertop, while the wheeled base ensures stability and safety — an important factor for homes with children and pets.

The top part of LG CLOiD includes a computing module, a display and speakers, cameras and sensors, as well as a voice generative AI, which allows the robot to serve as a hub for smart home management, communicate with users, recognize emotions, and adapt to family habits.
