NAOX presented wireless headphones with built-in EEG at CES 2026
The French company NAOX presented at CES 2026 a prototype of the consumer wireless headphones NAOX Wave with a built-in electroencephalograph (EEG). This is a simplified version of the clinical device NAOX Link NX01, which was also showcased at the exhibition.
What is known
The NAOX technology allows for reading brain activity through sensors integrated into the earbuds, unlike traditional wired EEG helmets. The Link NX01 model is focused on long-term sleep monitoring and assumes use under the supervision of licensed professionals.
In the consumer model NAOX Wave, the same sensors are used but they are designed for everyday use. According to the company, the headphones will be able to track biomarkers of brain activity throughout the day—during work, sleep, or rest.
It is claimed that the proprietary app will show data on sleep quality, cognitive load, emotional state, and even the so-called "brain age".
The company plans to release the device to the market at the end of 2026. Additionally, NAOX does not rule out the possibility of licensing the technology to other manufacturers, so similar features may appear in products from third-party brands.
